Raw Material Inventory Specialist

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY The Raw Material Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining the raw material inventory to the highest accuracy possible using the tools of cycle counts, production paperwork, and physical and system inventory reviews to make necessary inventory adjustments.
This includes inventory both on-site and off-site.
The individual will supervise Yard Attendants to ensure all activities related to inventory control are conducted in an organized, efficient, and timely matter.
At the discretion of the Production Planning Leader, the individual will also assist the Production Planning team in creating job orders, assembling melt packs, preparing shipments of bar stock, and providing backup of the charge calculation system.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EH&S value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
- Comply with all department, facility, Corporate, and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment suited for the task.
- Report all job-related illness and injuries.
(Per employee handbook).
- Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend all EH&S training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Review all inventory-related production paperwork and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy of Dover Alloy's raw material inventory including, but not limited to, processing losses and nonconforming materials.
- Directly responsible for activities of Yard Attendants to support raw material inventory control, yard organization, and production flow.
- Provide direction to Operations Team to support raw material inventory control, yard organization, and production flow.
- Schedule and execute periodic cycle-counts of raw materials coordinating with Operations Team and Finance department.
- Document quality discrepancies and provide feedback to suppliers.
Work with our suppliers to identify opportunities to maximize value of materials.
Occasionally travel to locations to address issues or promote best practices.
- Document and perform system inventory adjustments working with Finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Train Operations Team on how to properly sort material following alloy specific job instructions.
Also train on how to make point of use system adjustments for accurate inventory counts.
- Own the monthly scrap sales process from identification, through shipment and inventory adjustments.
- Act as the Primary SPA in the coordination and execution of Dover Alloy's yearly Physical Inventory event.
- Track and report all raw material inventory outsourced to Third-Party locations and for Third-Party customers.
- Continuously improve and modernize Dover Alloy's ability to identify, track, and manage raw materials through projects and coordination with Quality and Operations teams.
- When required, have the ability to create invoices and bill of lading paperwork and do the system adjustments necessary to ship and invoice product to the customer.
- Various assigned tasks including preparation of Melt Packets.
